There are moments in this journey that feel bigger than promotion — moments that feel like alignment. This spring, I’m honored to be part of two powerful events that center Black creativity, storytelling, and community, and I wanted to share where you can find me in the coming weeks.

Black Book Block Party: 100 Years of Black History

February 22, 2026 | 2:00–6:00 PM

Creative Saints Loft | Hyattsville, MD

I’m excited to share that I’ll be appearing at the Black Book Block Party: 100 Years of Black History alongside Apt 105 Books. This event is a celebration of Black history, Black literature, and Black creativity — and if you know me, you know those are spaces I will always show up for.

Even more special, Muse: Brown Skin – A Dangerous Kind of Love is now officially on the shelves at Apt 105 Books, and they’ll be bringing copies to the event. Seeing my book in a bookstore is something I’ve dreamed about since childhood, and being able to celebrate that milestone in community means everything to me.

What to expect at the Black Book Block Party:

• 50+ Black-owned vendors

• Books, art, and creative showcases

• Wine tasting

• A vibrant atmosphere of culture, community, and celebration

Black Writers Weekend DC

March 14, 2026 | 5:00–8:00 PM

Shanklin Hall | Washington, DC

I’ll also be attending Black Writers Weekend DC, a powerful gathering designed to celebrate, support, and connect Black writers across genres and creative industries.

This event is for authors, poets, screenwriters, filmmakers, and creatives who believe in the power of words and the importance of community. It’s more than a panel or screening — it’s about being in a room with people who understand the calling, the work, and the journey of being a Black creative.

What to expect at Black Writers Weekend DC:

• Exclusive screening of Dear Black Writers

• Creative panels featuring professionals from books, film, and media

• A curated mixer intentionally designed for networking, collaboration, and connection

Spaces like this refill the creative well. I’m grateful to be part of an environment that pours back into Black voices and honors the work we do.
